1)What are some ways Mr. Gore uses IT to communicate his message about global warming?
A:He put some information on the screen so that everyone can see that. He uses some graphs to show some changes for people.

2) Describe the use of visual aids in his speeches.
A:We can know the effect of the global warming better. We can compare them with the data before so that we will know how serious the fact now. That makes us feel nervous about our environment.

3)According to Mr. Gore, what is the cause of global warming?
A: He thinks the air pollution and CO2 are the biggest reasons. It makes the aerosphere thinner and thinner, so world warmer and warmer. So that the ice is disappearing.

4) Why does Mr. Gore feel that global warming is such an important issue?
A:Because as the temperature rises, more ice will disappear. The water will cover lands and many animals can't live.

5) What does he suggest we can do to solve this problem?
A:The government must make some rules for the cars so that they will make less CO2. And we should plant more trees because they can take in CO2. We can also make new cars which make little CO2.

1) What is a "botnet"?
Programs that secretly install themselves on thousands or even millions of personal computers, band these computers together into an unwitting army of zombies, and use the collective power of the dragooned network to commit Internet crimes.

2) What is "spam"?
Junk e-mails. The e-mails that we dont 'want Spams are useless for us. They are used to bedevil the Internet in recent months, as well as fraud and data theft

3) According to the article, how many computers were online in 1988?
In 1988, when there were only 60,000 computers online.

4) Today about how many computers are online? How many of them contain botnet programs?
More than 650 million computers.About 11 percent of them contain botnet programs.

5) How do "botnet masters" profit from their use of botnets?
The information can be stolen and then be hid in a secret location where the data could be retrieved by the botnet master.

6) In your own words, explain why botnets are harmful to society.
Botnets are very harmful because it steals people’s information and secrets. We can’t believe in our computers from then on because anything we write into the computer may be stolen by another person. It is also harmful for our safety because when the computers of the army take botnets, many secrets of the government and army may be leaked. That is terrible.

7) What do you think should be done to solve the problem of botnets? Be creative!
Use the Internet policemen to catch the “botnet masters”; improve the technology so that all the spams can be “killed”.

8) What are some other important problems that are affecting the internet?
Viruses on the internet. Bad websites which have unhealthy or violent contents. Sometimes the games on the internet are also problems affect it.

A:If anything happens,people can use IT tools like cameras,video cell phones to document what the police did and they can send it to the government.

A:Others like cell phones, radios which can record voices.

4) What does Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton say about using videos against police officers?
A"I cannot make judgments based solely on videos or portions of videos," Bratton said

5) Do you think this kind of technology is making the world a better place? Are there any ways that the same technologies that help the people in this article can also be harmful?
A:I don't think it is making the world a better place because some people make a few mistakes. If we use this kind of technology to all the people, it is unfair to them. We should give others chance to correct their mistakes.But if we document their mistakes and tell others, maybe we will just remember their mistakes and they won't have chance to correct.
When you document others' behaviors, you may take something that you shouldn't take. And others' shortcomings which they don't want others to know will also be told to others.It will harm others.

6) Will this kind of technology have any effect on Chinese society? Good or bad? Explain your answer.
A: I think it won't have good effect on Chinese society because some of the Chinese people are still not very polite. If they know you take down what they did, they may hurt you and rob what you take. Maybe more people will get hurt in this way, so it won't bring good effect to Chinese society.
